Mix is integrated into the Paper app and also a standalone website.

Our product process involved design and engineering at each step.

Mix was represented as a public stream that sat above the existing journals in Paper.

Storyboards helped bring the scenarios to life.

From the scenarios, we were able to define all the views and pages needed in Mix.

We wireframed most views and flows in Sketch to get feedback from product and engineering.

Next, we were able to dive deep in visual design and motion studies to perfect transitions.

Several experiences were prototyped in Javascript. We got feedback from existing users and made adjustments before building.

The engineering team built a tool called the HUD to help design refine precise values in the app.

Mix is a collaborative platform that helps people get started with their creative work. Mix has inspiration from creators around the world, both in the Paper app and on mix.fiftythree.com.

Mix is for everyone - people who want to learn how to draw, doodlers, students, artists, consultants and professionals. Mix has templates, outlines, and ideas ready to be remixed and transformed into something new. Goodbye blank page!

My Role
I led all Mix research sessions including focus groups, feedback sessions and usability testing. I was also 1 of 4 senior interaction designers working on Mix. My focus was on designing and integrating MIX into the PAPER app.
